Major disruption to services in Gateshead
Five Bridges Roundabout is fully closed until early morning on 16 July, while Gateshead Council work on the demolition of the flyover.
During this period many Go North East services in the Gateshead area will be rerouted, and delays are expected.

Road closure at Bishop Auckland affecting service X21

Buses on service X21 will be unable to serve Bishop Auckland Bus Station between 20:00 & 06:00 the following morning on the evenings of Thursday 2nd until Sunday 12th July (except Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th July) while Durham County Council carry out essential works. Buses will depart from Newgate Street, opposite The Mitre pub.
The Sill - Road Closure

Due to a road closure, the AD122 is unable to serve Vinolanda, Services will wait their time at The Sill
Diversion on the 27 at Jarrow Road.

Between 8pm and 6am the following morning on the evenings from Monday 29th June until Friday 3rd July, diversions are in place on the 27 because of roadworks. There is no service on Jarrow Road. Please use stops at Straker Street and Church Bank.
Roadworks at Bridgehill affecting service 47

Buses on service 47 towards Newcastle can not serve stops at Chaytor Road and Pleasant View due to roadworks making the road to narrow for two vehicles to pass safely.
Buses will operate along Pemberton Road and Durham Road, serving all stops on the diversionary route.
School buses SB2 & SB3 in the afternoon will operate via Chaytor Road before serving Pemberton Road. SB2 will terminate at Pemberton Road while SB3 will continue to Medomsley.

Buses on services 10 & X85 will be unable to serve bus stops at Dilston Cemetery and Bridge End from Monday 22nd June until Tuesday 22nd December. Buses will divert via the A695 and Station Road in both directions.
Road closure at South Shore Road affecting services 53 & 54
Buses on services 53 & 54 are diverted due to emergency works connected to the Tyne Bridge refurbishment scheme. Service 53 will omit Hillgate, South Shore Road and Hawks Road and will operate directly from Swing Bridge to the Glasshouse. Service 54 will operate direct via Tyne Bridge omitting stops between Gateshead Askew Road and Newcastle City Centre.

The bus stop at Barnes Park for services travelling away from Sunderland has been removed following an accident. Buses will serve the previous stop.
Stanley Bus Station Refurbishment

Between 7th April and the end of September 2026, Stanley Bus Station will be undergoing a major refurbishment. During this time, certain stands will be out of use and as such your bus may depart from a different stand from normal. Please refer to signage located within the station for more information.

Buses on service 20A will be unable to serve stops between Houghton Church and Rainton Bridge between 09:00 & 15:30 fom Monday 6th to Wednesday 9th July. Buses will divert non stop between Houghton Church and resume normal route at Rainton Bridge Business Park.
Road closure at Kingsway affecting services 93 & 94
Buses on services 93 & 94 will be diverted between 20:00 and 06:00 the following morning on the evenings of Monday 6th and Thursday 9th July while Gateshead Council carry out essential maintenance. Service 93 will divert via Tenth Avenue West, Dukesway and Western Avenue. Service 94 will divert via Fourth Avenue, Dukesway and Tenth Avenue West. There are no bus stops on the diversionary route, please use the normal stops on Kingsway and Marquisway that are unaffected by the closure.
