Industrial Action Ticket Claim Form from 23rd September
If you have not been able to use your Weekly or Monthly ticket due to the industrial action between Saturday 23rd September and Friday 29th September affecting Go North East bus services, please use the form at the bottom of this page.
Customers with pre-purchased 7-day or 28-day tickets that would have been valid on some or all of the strike dates may be given complimentary tickets for future use. Customers will need to submit a claim form, which will reviewed by Go North East's Customer Services team. If a complimentary ticket is due, this will be added to your app account. We will not be issuing refunds for day and Flexi-5 tickets, or for pre-purchased single tickets.
Unfortunately, Go North East will not accept claims for other costs incurred due to the industrial action - this includes, but is not limited to, taxi and other travel costs.
Once you have completed the form, there is no need for you to contact us to let us know, we will automatically process your ticket claim within the next 15 working days.
Please ensure that you complete the form accurately so we can process your claim as quickly as possible.
Any claims for ticket credits will need to be submitted by Friday 13th October.
Paper Tickets bought from the Bus Driver
If you’ve purchased a paper ticket on the bus, and you wish to submit a claim, please note that we are only able to offer a credit for complimentary travel on the Go North East app. This means that, if you do not already have one, you will need to create an account on the Go North East app to receive your credit.
Please ensure you provide us with the unique ticket number and details of where you purchased your ticket (i.e., Ryton, Fatfield, North Shields).
Unfortunately, we are unable to offer any refunds.

App Tickets
If you’ve purchased a ticket on the Go North East mobile app, please ensure that you provide us with the email address linked to your Go North East app account, so that if your claim is valid, we can provide you with complimentary travel.
Any complimentary travel will be offered by way of free travel tickets provided via our mobile app.
Unfortunately, we are unable to offer any refunds.

Key Smartcard
If you’ve purchased a ticket on a Key Smartcard, please ensure that you provide us with your long Key smartcard number (starts with 6335) when submitting your claim and create a Go North East app account, so that if your claim is valid, we can provide you with complimentary travel.
Any complimentary travel will be offered by way of free travel tickets provided via our mobile app.
Unfortunately, we are unable to offer any cash refunds in any circumstance.
For any customers with an active pay monthly Key Smartcard subscription, we will discount your next payment to the value of a weeks worth of travel. You do not need to complete the Industrial Action Ticket Claim Form.
