In partnership with Nexus and with financial support from the Government’s Bus Service Improvement Plan, we are pleased to announce revised timetables which will see an improved frequency introduced on service 56, and more buses on evenings and Sundays on services 2/2A, 8 and 20/20A.

From the same date, we will also be implementing some minor timetable changes to improve reliability to several services across the region.

This means that, combined with service 2, these services will be increased to run every 30 minutes between Washington Galleries, Penshaw, Sunderland and Silksworth.
