Our Bus drivers embraced the Halloween spirit with a visit to one of the region’s most haunted castles, Lumley Castle near Chester-le-Street, County Durham.

Known for its tales of paranormal activity, the castle didn’t deter six of our brave drivers, who swapped their uniforms for ghostly makeovers in preparation for our Halloween celebrations.

On 31 October, you can expect a frightful treat as our drivers will be dressed in their favourite costumes. To meet these friendly phantoms behind the wheel, hop on any of six specially decorated Halloween buses, easily tracked via the Go North East app.

Lorraine Petch, a bus driver from our Deptford Depot, said: “Wearing fancy dress is a great opportunity for us to join in the fun and put a smile on our passengers’ faces.”

With Halloween falling during the school holidays, families can take advantage of Go North East’s 'Kids Go Free' deal, allowing you to explore some of the region’s haunted hangouts and exciting Halloween events, which runs from 26 October to 3 November 2024, allowing up to three children aged 11 and under to travel for free when accompanied by an adult with a valid ticket.

Join us for a spook-tacular Halloween adventure this October!
