Revisions to fares from Sunday 21 July

From Sunday 21 July, the prices of some day, week, month and Flexi-5 tickets will change. However, single fares will not change and will still be capped at £2, and return fares will also not change and stay capped at £4. Prices for Network One, SmartZone and TNE tickets will also not change.
We know that putting fares up is unwelcome, and we don’t like doing it. Unfortunately, our costs are rising and we need to cover these outgoings to keep our services running.
We are also introducing new Cobalt & Coast 1-day and 7-day tickets which will be valid for travel on the Cobalt & Coast 307, 309 and X39, and between High Farm and Hadrian Park on services 41 and 41a. These tickets will also be able to be used on Arriva’s services 306 and 308.

Key Smartcard
From 21 July, we will no longer issue new Key smartcards for Go North East specific tickets. Instead, customers should buy tickets on our app or directly from the Bus Driver.
Customers with existing Key smartcards can still renew tickets and subscriptions online. However, we will stop selling Go North East specific 7-day tickets on Key smartcard, both online and on the bus. Customers can instead buy a 7-day ticket either on our app or as a paper ticket from the bus driver.
SmartZone 7-day tickets will still be available on Key smartcard and can be topped up either online or on the bus. SmartZone ticket prices will not change from the 21 July.
