NECA-funded multi-operator day tickets
From 1 April 2025, the North East Combined Authority (NECA) are increasing the price of the multi-operator day tickets that are funded through the North East’s Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP)
The revised prices of NECA’s BSIP-funded day tickets will be:

Nexus tendered services
Nexus are increasing the price of fares on their tendered bus services from 1 April. As a result, fares will increase on Nexus tendered bus services operated by Go North East.
The following services will be affected by these price changes:
- 9 (North Shields – Jarrow)
- 57 (Heworth – Wardley)
- 79
- 81
- 82
- 792
- 794
- 935
- 937
- 939
On the Nexus tendered services listed above, single tickets currently priced £1.80 will increase to £2.00 and single tickets currently priced £2.30 will increase to £2.50.
The price of Nexus Day tickets will increase to £4.00 and Nexus Week tickets will increase to £18.00. For more information about these fares changes, and for details of which services the Nexus Day and Week tickets can be used on, please see the Nexus website.
Sunderland Connect
Sunderland Connect fares will also change from 1 April. The revised fares for Sunderland Connect 700/701 are shown in the table below.
From 1 April, the Sunderland Connect 7-day ticket will no longer be available. Sunderland Connect 7-day tickets can be bought up to and including the 31 March, and will be accepted for travel up to and including Sunday 6 April.

Services 317 and 342
Go North East will start operating most journeys on these services on a commercial basis. This means that some fares on these services will change from the 1 April.
In general, single fares currently priced £1.80 will increase to £2.00, and single fares currently priced £2.30 will increase to £2.50. We will also introduce return tickets on both services.
Nexus Day and Nexus Week tickets will no longer be available for sale but we will continue to accept Nexus Week tickets up to and including Sunday 6 April.
Valid Shields Ferry tickets will continue to be valid for travel between North Shields Transport Hub and the Ferry Landing (in both directions) on service 317.
