Travel Advice for Sam Fender concerts

With local hero Sam Fender set to light up Newcastle over three unforgettable nights, we’re gearing up to get you to and from the gigs smoothly, but with thousands of fans heading into the city, we’re urging passengers to plan ahead and travel smart.

• Saturday 14 June
• Sunday 15 June

Whether you’re heading to the show or just making your way home through the city, please take note of the following travel advice:

Buy in advance

To speed up boarding and reduce queues, we strongly recommend buying your bus tickets in advance through the Go North East app. It’s quick, easy, and helps you skip the hassle on the night.

Check your last bus times

Don’t get caught out! Make sure to check your last bus home in advance using our journey planner.

Our services will be busy 

We’ll be running extra services to help get you home but buses will still be extremely busy, particularly after the concerts. Please be patient, allow extra time for your journey, and be prepared for some queues.

Where to catch your bus home

To give yourself the best chance of getting a seat, head straight to Eldon Square, Haymarket, or Market Street after the gig, these are the main departure points and buses are likely to leave at full capacity. 

If you try to board the bus from Newgate Street, Bigg Market, St Nicholas Street or Central Station, you may struggle to get on, as buses may not be able to stop if already full.
