Tide Tour - open top coastal service

Discover the coast from the top deck this summer
A brand-new open-top coastal service has arrived for summer 2026. The Tide Tour (Service 300) runs along the stunning coastline between Tynemouth and Whitley Bay every 60 minutes, offering spectacular sea views and easy access to some of the region's most popular attractions.
From Saturday 18 July until 31 August, hop on board and explore the best of the North East coast. Whether you're rediscovering your local area or enjoying a day out somewhere new, there's no better way to take in the scenery.
Supported by the North East Mayoral Strategic Authority, adult tickets start at just £2.50, 21 and under from £1, and Kids Go Free*.

Tickets
There's no special fare for the Tide Tour... travel all day across the North East from just:
- £7.50 - TNE Day Saver (Adult Day Ticket)
- £3 - 21 & Under Day Ticket
- *Kids aged 11 and under travel free this summer when accompanied by an adult (T&Cs apply)
Travel to the coast with a ticket that's valid on most buses across Tyne & Wear, County Durham and Northumberland, Metro services, the Shields Ferry, and the Sunderland–Blaydon rail line. Then hop on and off the Tide Tour and explore more of the region – all with the same ticket.
Go North East specific tickets and passes are not valid on this service.
Concessionary passes and Network One tickets (valid in Zone 3) are valid for use on the Tide Tour.
Discounts listed above are available with any ticket or pass type valid on the Tide Tour by showing the paper ticket, app QR code or smart card.
