Short notice journey cancellations

Due to the current national driver shortage which is affecting all sectors, and higher-than-usual levels of sickness absence, some journeys are not expected to operate.

Closure at A19 & A184, Boldon

24th - 27th Sep

Buses will be unable to serve their usual stops while works on the A19 near Downhill Lane continue from 20:00 on Friday 25th September Monday 28th September

Services X9 & X10 will be unable to serve stops at Testos roundabout on journeys in both directions. Please catch your coach at Heworth Interchange.

Services 35 & 35A will be unable to serve bus stops between Vertu BMW & White Mare Pool roundabout. Please catch your bus at Vertu BMW or White Mare Pool services.

Service 50 will be unable to serve bus stops at Nissan on journeys towards South Shields, please catch your bus at Cherry Blossom Way

Service 56 will be unable to serve stops at Nissan on journeys towards Sunderland. Please catch your bus at Cherry Blossom Way.

Closure of Durham Bus Station from 15 February

15th Feb - 30th Sep

From Monday 15 February, Durham Bus Station will be closed to allow demolition and redevelopment work to begin, which is expected to last until Autumn 2022.

Whilst the bus station is closed, a range of new bus stops will be introduced on North Road and at Millburngate.

Closure at Boldon Lane level crossing

The service to South Shields due at Boldon ASDA at 00:51 on the morning of Thursday 30th September will be unable to serve stops between New Road and Whiteleas Way due to Network Rail works.  Please catch your bus from the bus stop on New Road near Boker Lane or Whiteleas Way, near Peter Johnson's funeral care.
