Update on service changes from 24 July

Almost 9,000 people completed the service changes consultation last month, and we’d like to thank you all for taking the time to do so.

We’ve analysed your feedback and continued to work with local authorities, which has helped change some of our initial plans.

Incident affecting service 78

Today 14:31 - 23:59

Due to an incident in Great Lumley our service 78 is currently unable to service stops at Warriors Arms and the Snooker Club, Please catch your bus from Back Lane or Sevenacres.

Incident affecting service 35

25th Jun onwards

Due to an incident in Hetton Downs our service 35 is currently unable to service stops at Hetton Downs Estate, Please catch your bus from Regent Street.

These disruptions could affect future journeys

Westbound road closure at Silksworth Road affecting services 35 & 35A

27th Jun - 17th Jul

Buses on services 35 & 35A towards Low Moorsley will be unable to serve stops at Silksworth Road (Allendale Road, Woodside Grove or the Board Inn from first bus on Monday 27th June until Sunday 17th July while Northern Gas Networks carry out urgent works in the area.  Please catch your bus from Fox Hole Wood or on the A690 near West Park.

Services revert to normal stands in the evening at Consett bus station

1st - 31st Jul

Following a successful campaign working alongside Durham County Council & Durham Constabulary, there has been a reduction in anti-social behaviour in Consett bus station.  

With effect from 1st July 2022, the measures in place restricting the number of stands in use will no longer be required and buses will revert to using their normal stands all day.
