Service update for the Great North 10km on 6 July

To allow the Great North 10km to take place safely, there will be changes to our services on Sunday 6 July. Most services serving Newcastle City Centre will be diverted between 8:15 and 14:00.

Please plan ahead using the Go North East app and allow extra time for your journey.

Due to the  road closures, our Toon Tour service will be suspended for the entire day on 6 July.

Services impacted between 8:15 and 14:00 on 6 July:

Services operating between Gateshead Interchange and Newcastle, Eldon Square - 21, 28, 28B, X1, X10, X21, X72
These services will be unable to serve stops at Askew Road, John Dobson Street or St Mary's Place. Buses will run non-stop via Askew Road, Redheugh Bridge, St James Boulevard and Gallowgate to Eldon Square. Buses from Newcastle will operate their normal route.

Services operating between Gateshead Interchange and Newcastle, Market Street - 27, 56, 57, 58, X58
These services will be unable to serve stops at Askew Road or Market Street East and West and will run non-stop via Askew Road, Redheugh Bridge and Clayton Street and terminate at Newgate Street, stop 08NC125 near the old Wilkinsons store.  

Service 1 towards Metro Centre will be unable to serve stops at Market Street East or West, please catch your bus from St Nicholas Street near the High Level Bridge.  

Service 1 towards Whitley Bay will be unable to serve stops at Market Street West, please catch your bus from the Milecastle.

Services 307 & 309 will be unable to operate to Haymarket Bus Station and will terminate at The University Library on Sandyford Road.

Service 53 will be unable to serve stops on Market Street West or Grey Street, please catch your bus from Westgate Road near the Milecastle pub or Guildhall

Service 54 (Saltwell Park) will be unable to serve stops at Market Street. Please catch your bus from St Nicholas Street near the High Level Bridge.

Service 54 (from Whitley Bay) will be unable to serve stops between Benton Park Road and the City Centre. Buses will operate non stop from Benton Park Road and will terminate at Sandyford Road near the University Library.

Service Q3 towards Brunton Park will be unable to serve stops at Quayside, John Dobson Street, Sandyford Road, Osborne Road or Jesmond Dene Road.  Please catch your bus from stops on City Road or Haymarket.  After departing Haymarket, buses will run non stop to the Blue House roundabout. Towards St Peter's buses will run non stop between Blue House roundabout and the City Centre. Buses will stop at Haymarket and operate via Newgate Street, Bigg Market, Mosley Street and City Road.
