30 October service adjustments

From Saturday 30 October, we’ll be making minor adjustments to some of our services to help improve reliability.

There will also be further adjustments and improvements to a small number of other routes from the same date.

Service adjustments and improvements


Service X22

  • No change to the timetable, but the service will be revised to depart from Stand A at Metrocentre Interchange.

Connections 4

  • Following customer feedback, extra journeys will be added to the timetable to help with increased passenger numbers around Amazon shift times at Follingsby.
  • This will mean that there will be a bus operating up to every 7-10 minutes between Follingsby and Heworth at Amazon shift times.

Service 6

  • Working in partnership with Durham County Council, this service will be extended once per hour from Stanley to Lanchester to replace service 730, offering new cross-Stanley connections, and direct connections from locations such as Lanchester, Burnhope and South Moor to Metrocentre and Newcastle.
  • Newer buses, with the latest Euro 6 low emissions, free Wi-Fi, USB charging points and next stop announcements, will also be introduced to this route.

Prince Bishops 20

  • To help with the current national driver shortages, now being seen in many sectors, we will be temporarily revising the Monday to Saturday daytime frequency to every 15 minutes.
  • This change will reduce the number of on-the-day cancellations that we are currently having to make, ensuring a more reliable and consistent level of service.

Durham Cathedral Bus 40B

  • Service 40B will be renumbered 41.
  • There will be no other changes to the service.

NEW service 42 in Durham

  • Working in partnership with Durham County Council, a new service will be introduced running between Durham Rail Station, New Elvet, South Road and Mount Oswald.

Peterlee Purples 62

  • There will be a new journey at 9.16pm from Peterlee to Easington Village.

Green Arrow 97

  • No change to the timetable, but the service will be revised to depart from Stand C at Metrocentre when heading towards Asda.

Peterlee Purples 239

  • As a result of Durham County Council contract changes, this service will be revised to operate between Peterlee and Station Town only.
  • The northern section of the route between Peterlee, Horden and Easington continues to be served by Peterlee Purple 62.
  • Durham County Council will provide a separate taxibus between Station Town and Sedgefield, which will connect with service 239 at Station Town.

Service 643

  • There will be no change to the timetable, but the service will be revised to depart from Stand C at Metrocentre when heading towards Asda to maintain a common stop with Green Arrow 97.

AD122 Hadrian’s Wall Country Bus

After 31 October, our AD122 service will start operating its winter timetable.

  • Weekends only from 6 November until 19 December, and also weekends only between 19 February and 3 April 2022.
