Discounts for everyone aged between 5 and 25
We have discounted day, weekly and monthly tickets available to everyone aged from 5 up to and including 25, and a flat single fare available for anyone aged under 19. ID is required for anyone who is aged, or looks, 16 or over.
Our discounted tickets are available to everyone aged from 5-year-old up to and including 25-year-old - and you can save up to a whopping 43% on the equivalent adult all zones ticket prices.
Anyone who is or looks 16 or over will need to show ID in order to buy tickets for these discounted prices.

Available on the Go North East app. The safe and secure way to buy your travel to school or college. Available to anyone aged under 19, the School Tripper is available to use between 7am and 9am, and 2pm and 5pm Monday to Friday. If you're travelling outside of these times our range of great value 5 to 25 tickets will have you covered.

|Family Day Ticket||£12||Covers up to two adults and three children under 16, with a minimum of one adult and one child required.|

From our research, you've told us the types of ID you want to use, so we're happy to accept UK ID cards with the PASS hologram including CitizenCard and Validate UK, Transport ID cards including the Stagecoach VIP, Network One Young Persons' ID card and Arriva Teen, as well as photographic driving licences or passports. Young Persons' 16-25 Railcard can also be used to buy day, week and month tickets. Additionally, if you have a green key smartcard you don't need to show ID.
We're also working in partnership with a number of local colleges and we're now accepting student ID cards from Durham Sixth Form Centre, Gateshead College, Newcastle College, Newcastle Sixth Form College and Sunderland College.
For customers travelling in Tyne and Wear, prices for under 16s with a POP card is 60p per journey or unlimited travel on Bus, Metro and Ferry for £1.10 a day.
For anyone travelling on supported scholars’ services in Tyne and Wear, an under 19 fare of 90p per journey is available for anyone travelling on these services without a POP card.
*Exceptions include services such as the AD122 Hadrian's Wall Country Bus, NewcastleGateshead Toon Tour, Night Bus service N21 and other special event services. Longer single journeys on services X9 and X10 are £2.20. Prices on our buses to St Bede's Lanchester and Park View Chester-le-Street are unchanged.
