What will I earn?
Starting at £12.72 per hour after a short training period, your pay rises to £14.84 after your first year or immediately if you're an existing licence holder, over £29,000 per year.
Where will I be based?
Join our team of 2,000 staff across Gateshead, Sunderland, Washington, North Tyneside, Hexham, and Consett. We will try our best to accommodate your preferred location, or somewhere close by.

Full training is provided by Go North East, and our driver academy will help and support you through your bus driving test which is held at our depot in Gateshead. We also provide you with a uniform and footwear as well as ongoing professional competence and refresher training.
Do I need to have a bus driving licence to apply?
Our award-winning Elite Training Academy provides comprehensive training. With just a car licence of 6 months, you can start your journey with us.
We'll teach you how to drive a bus and put you through your bus driving test, whilst also covering accessibility and customer services training. Ongoing training will also be provided.
