Closure at Barcus Close Lane, Crookgate

***UPDATE*** Buses will resume normal route from start of service on Friday 24th December.
Buses on X lines service X72 will be unable to serve bus stops at Sleepy Valley, Tanfield Village or Barcus Close Lane while drainage works are carried out.  Please catch your bus at Tantobie crossroads or Hobson, near Barcus Close Lane.  For customers travelling from Sleepy Valley & Tanfield Village, Durham County Council are providing an on demand taxi service, operated by Stanley Taxis.

School bus 823 will start from Tanfield Village on the opposite side of the road to normal, 2 minutes earlier at 07:52.  It will then operate via Sleepy Valley, Pickering Nook, Hobson, Crookgate Bank Top (for customers from Barcus Close Lane) before resuming normal route at Crookgate Pack Horse.  The afternoon journey will operate the same route in the opposite direction.

Closure at Syke Bank & Front Street, Burnopfield

27th - 30th Sep 2021

Buses will be diverted while Durham County Council carry out essential maintenance at the junction of Syke Bank & Front Street from 07:00 until 19:00 each day between Monday 27th September until Thursday 30th September.

The bus stops at High Friarside and near the CO-OP on Front Street will not be served by service X71. Please use stops in the Lintz Estate or on Syke Bank.  If you would normally use the stops near the CO-OP, please use the stops near the school.

Service 6 will be unable to serve Lintz Estate while works are in place, instead, service X71 will divert through Lintz Estate serving all stops.  You can use service X71 to meet with service 6 at Burnopfield shops, or catch service 6 from the stop on Syke Bank.

School Bus service 836 will be unable to serve bus stops at Front Street CO-OP, High Friarside or Lintz Estate.  Please catch your bus from stops near the school or on Syke Bank.
