  • Gateshead Interchange closed for resurfacing

    13th - 15th May 2023

    Gateshead Interchange will be closed to all buses from 21:30 until end of service on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th May.
    Services 1, 21, 28B, 54, X1 & X72 towards Newcastle will operate from Jackson Street near the Tilley Stone.
    Services 21, 28B, X1 & X72 from Newcastle will operate from a temporary stop on Prince Consort Road. Buses on services 21 & 28B will be unable to serve the stop at the former Gloucester pub.
    Services 27, 56 & 58 towards Newcastle will operate from the stop on Gateshead High Street near Tesco.
    Services 27, 51, 52, 56 & 58 from Gateshead will operate from their usual stop on Jackson Street.
    Services 1, 96 & X66 towards Metro Centre will operate from a temporary stop on Prince Consort Road.
    Services 49 & 49A will operate from a temporary stop on Prince Consort Road.
    Service 81 will operate from Jackson Street, near the Tilley Stone
    Service 93 will operate from Jackson Street near The Tilley Stone
    Service 94 will operate from a temporary stop on Prince Consort Road.
    Service 53 to Saltwell Park will operate from its usual stop on Gateshead High Street and will not serve the stop at Jackson Street

    Due to these temporary diversions, services 51 & 52 will be unable to serve stops at Gateshead High Street on journeys towards Gateshead.
    Services 49. 49A & 96 will be unable to serve stops between St Cuthberts Church and Gateshead on journeys towards Gateshead.
    Buses from Gateshead to Newcastle will be unable to serve the stop at Askew Road.
    Overnight buses on services N21 & 56 will follow these diversions.
