Road closure at Burnopfield Front Street affecting services 6, X70 & X71

4th - 10th Aug 2025

Buses will be unable to serve stops between Syke Bank and Crookgate Pack Horse from 07:00 until 19:00 between Monday 4th and Sunday 10th August.   Buses on services 6 & X70 towards Newcastle will operate down Syke Bank and turn into Lintz Estate before returning to Hobson via Syke Bank.  Service X71 will turn right onto Syke Bank towards Hobson.  Buses will serve the bus stop at the Community Centre.

Buses towards Stanley & Consett will divert via Hobson and down Syke Bank towards Burnopfield.  At the bottom of Syke Bank services 6 & X71  will resume normal route.  Service X70 will turn into Lintz Estate and resume normal route from the bottom of Syke Road.

Road closure at Westmorland Road affecting services in the west of Newcastle City Centre

3rd - 12th Aug 2025

Buses will be diverted in Newcastle City Centre between 19:00 & 05:00 the following morning on the evenings of Sunday 3rd August until Monday 11th August.  Please note there will be no works on Friday 8th to Sunday 10th August.

Buses on services 6, 10, 10A, 10B, 47, 53, 301, X30 & X45 towards Newcastle from the Redheugh Bridge will be unable to serve stops on Clayton Street West and will instead set down on Westgate Road.  Services from Newcastle towards the Redheugh Bridge will serve all stops as normal, but will divert after serving Central Station.

Service 12 towards Newcastle will be unable to serve the stops at Railway Street or Clayton Street West and will instead set down on Westgate Road.  On journeys towards Winlaton, stops at Newgate Street, Central Station and Railway Street will not be served and buses will divert from Eldon Square direct to Scotswood Road via St James Boulevard.
