Shuttle service for Ovington during road closure – 5th August to 31st August 2024

From the 5th to 31st August, the road between Ovington and Ovingham will be closed. During this time, Go North East’s service 684 will be unable to service Ovington due to their being no safe place for a full-sized bus to turn round in the village.
To ensure that Ovington is not cut off from public transport during this time, Northumberland County Council will be arranging for a minibus shuttle service from Ovington to Ovingham and Corbridge during the road closure.
The shuttle service will operate up to every two hours, Monday to Saturday, and will connect with Go North East’s 684 service in Ovingham for connections to and from Newcastle. It will also operate to Corbridge to provide a link to local facilities there and for onward bus connections to Hexham.
The shuttle service will use an 8-seater minibus provided by PCL Travel – travel on the shuttle will be free of charge. The shuttle service will wait at Ovingham if the 684 from Newcastle is running late.
