Share your views on planned service changes in North Tyneside

1 month ago Wed 29th Jan 2025

We're planning service changes in North Tyneside, Newcastle and South East Northumberland, set to launch on Sunday 23 March 2025.

We're encouraging our passengers to share their views on these proposed changes to the bus network. Feedback received will help us refine our plans, ensuring local travel needs are met as effectively as possible.

Based on previous feedback and extensive analysis of customer demand, the proposed timetables aim to provide more reliable services and more beneficial routes for passengers. Key changes include:

  • Service 356 – a new service operating alongside Service 355 to provide enhanced links to key destinations, including Whitley Bay, Forest Hall, and North Tyneside Hospital.
  • Service 342 – Go North East will take over this route from Gateshead Central Taxis. It will run from Wallsend to Kingston Park with a revised timetable.
  • Withdrawal of Service 352 – due to low demand and the availability of frequent alternative services, this route is proposed for withdrawal.

Daniel Laird, Head of Commercial at Go North East, says:We’re excited to share our proposed changes, which are designed to strengthen transport links across the area and improve reliability. Most importantly, we want to hear from our customers. Their feedback will help us make any necessary tweaks to our plans so we can deliver the best possible bus network for Newcastle and North Tyneside.”

You can read about the proposed changes below then submit your feedback via a short online survey. Alternatively, you can attend one of several planned roadshows to view the proposals in person and ask questions.

The deadline for sharing feedback is Wednesday 5 February 2025.

You can submit your feedback via this online survey.
