The service is operated by one of our premium coaches, taking you to Whitby and Scarborough in style from Newcastle, Gateshead, Heworth, Washington Galleries, Peterlee, Billingham and Middlesbrough.
Includes a free ride on the Beachcomber open-top bus that runs all along Scarborough seafront if you show your X11 ticket – read more below.

Seasider X11 tickets
A special range of great value tickets are available for travel on the X11. These tickets can be purchased in advance on the Go North East app or on board the bus from your friendly bus driver.

Our X11 tickets includes travel on any connecting Go North East buses, and we also throw in a free ride on the Beachcomber open-top bus that runs all along Scarborough seafront and can take you to Alpamare and Sea Life.
Multi-operator Network One and Explorer tickets, as well as any other Go North East tickets, are not valid for travel on the X11 service. Concessionary holders can travel at the discounted concession rate – just show the driver your bus pass.
Free open-top bus ride in Scarborough with your X11 ticket
Jump on the Beachcomber open-top bus ride in Scarborough to enjoy a fabulous breeze along Scarborough’s seafront and get to and from many of the town’s great attractions. It’s free if you’ve arrived on X11 – just show the driver your ticket for that day.

Enjoy this grand Yorkshire seaside resort with an imposing castle ruin on the headland, award-winning beaches, lovely old harbour and great family attractions.
The broad South Bay Beach has beautiful soft sand, excellent bathing and donkey rides for the kids. Or choose the North Bay Beach with its coveted Blue Flag status.

Wander through narrow lanes with shops selling tempting things from glassware crafts, jewellery, gifts and clothes to tasty treats and local delicacies.
Then climb the 199 steps up onto the headland to discover the starkly romantic ruins of the Abbey perched high on the cliff above the town.
Take a boat trip round the bay from the working harbour or just soak up the atmosphere of this characterful fishing town.
