Why catch the bus?
What is Catch the Bus Week?
Catch the Bus Week is a nationwide campaign aimed at driving awareness of the benefits of taking the bus. This year, the campaign runs from the 2 until 8 July. Give the bus a go with our free ticket giveaways!
What are the benefits of travelling by bus?
Almost 2.5 million people all over Britain travel to work by bus, and a million more use the bus as a vital back up. For many, the bus is a vital lifeline, an affordable and accessible form of transport and for all it is a great and easy way to travel.
- Travelling by bus can help reduce stress and can be good for your health. You can also catch up on things that you cannot do when you are driving such as reading a book, catching up with friends on social media or having a day out without the hassle! Make full use of the free Wi-Fi and USB on many of our buses.
- The bus is good for the economy and helps support local communities and delivers people to local villages, towns and cities. Every £1 spent on bus infrastructure could generate more than £8 of wider economical benefits.
- Buses reduce congestion, with a possibility of a double deck bus removing over 50 cars on the road.
We'll be giving away tickets during Catch the Bus Week, so make sure you keep an eye on on our, and pages between 2 and 8 July.
Tickets will be added as M-Tickets on the Go North East app. Download the app by clicking.
