How does it work ?
Passengers travelling on our Diamond from Durham or Newcastle or on our Red Kite/West Durham Swift services from Newcastle can now benefit from our new Get You Home Guarantee.
Making connecting journeys at Stanley or Consett Bus Stations can sometimes be affected by delays from heavy city centre traffic. With our new Get You Home Guarantee, our drivers can call ahead to book you a taxi if the bus is going to miss one of the journeys covered by our guarantee and there is no reasonable alternative provided.
Get You Home Guaranteed journeys: the following journeys are covered by our guarantee, which may need to be adjusted without notice.
Passengers travelling on the following services, and needing to connect with journeys on 711 or MC1 due to depart Stanley Bus Station between 1700 and 1915.
If you are delayed from Diamond or West Durham Swift buses for your connection at Stanley Bus Station onto 711 or MC1 journeys to Wardle Street, Quaking Houses, Burnhope and Lanchester we promise to get you home.
We will provide a taxi In the event that the journey arriving is 5 or more minutes later than scheduled resulting in you missing your connection and having to wait more than 15 minutes for the connecting 711 or MC1 journeys to Wardle Street, Quaking Houses, Burnhope and Lanchester we promise to get you home. A taxi will take you to the bus stop nearest your home if your connecting journey is due to depart Stanley Bus Station between 1700 and 1915.
Passengers travelling on Red Kite Services 45 and 46 and West Durham Swift Services X70 and X71 scheduled to arrive in Consett Bus Station between 1700 and 1900 Mondays to Fridays (except public holidays)
Commencing 28 July 2008, if you are delayed from Red Kite or West Durham Swift buses for your connection at Consett Bus Station onto Venture buses V1, V2, to Delves Lane, and Lime 8 to The Grove, Moorside and Castleside we promise to get you home.
We will provide a taxi In the event that the journey arriving is 5 or more minutes later than scheduled resulting in you missing your connection and having to wait more than 15 minutes for the connecting V1 or V2 journey to Delves Lane or Service 8 journey to Castleside. A taxi will take you to the bus stop nearest your home if your connecting journey is due to depart Consett Bus Station between 1700 and 1915.
Tickets
Passengers must hold a ticket that is already valid for the connecting journey i.e. a valid Buzzfare ticket, Explorer or concessionary travel pass. If you do not have a valid ticket for the onward journey you can purchase a Get You Home ticket from the driver on the Diamond or West Durham Swift bus before you get off for £1 (this ticket is only valid for the Get You Home taxi journey and cannot be used on any other bus journey).
