Refund and Replacement Policy from 1st May 2008

 

If you have pre purchased a ticket which you have been unable to use or which has been damaged you may be eligible for a refund or a replacement provided it is returned to us before it expires.  Unfortunately refunds are not available on Day Tickets.

Applications for a refund or replacement should be made in writing to Go North East Customer Services Team, Freepost NT2674, Gateshead, NE8 1BR enclosing your ticket.

BuzzFare Tickets
(excluding those purchased through our salary sacrifice scheme)

 
Due to the generous discounts already built into the original purchase price, refunds will only be available if

 

 

at least 3 days remain on a 7 day ticket
at least 7 days remain on a 28 day ticket
at least 28 days remain on an annual ticket

 

Refunds on BuzzFare tickets will be calculated using the original purchase price based on the number of days remaining on the ticket from the date it is received by Go North East.

 

An administration charge of £10 (£3 on 7 day tickets) for each ticket will be deducted from any refund made.

 

Refunds will not be given on tickets purchased more than 12 months from the date of refund application or which have been lost, damaged or de-faced (including those which have been damaged accidently).

 

A refund is only available to the original purchaser and proof of purchase may be requested.

BuzzFare Ticket Replacement
If a ticket is damaged, a replacement ticket may be given provided that the damage is not seen as deliberate or defaces the ticket.  The ticket type, price and expiry date must be clearly visible.  We cannot replace lost or stolen tickets (other than annual tickets subject to our replacement policy below).

Lost or stolen Annual BuzzFare Tickets will be replaced although a replacement charge of £15 will be made.  Only one replacement will be issued and any loss or theft must be reported to the police within 48 hours and an incident number obtained.

 

Applications for a replacement should be made in writing to Go North East Customer Services Team, Freepost NT2674, Gateshead, NE8 1BR enclosing the damaged ticket or police incident number whichever is applicable. 

 

We reserve the right to refuse to replace tickets and are not responsible for any travel costs incurred while the ticket is being replaced.

Get Around

 

Refunds will not be given on one and seven day tickets or on tickets which have been lost, damaged or de-faced (including those which have been damaged accidently).

 

When calculating your refund we will deduct £10 for every full or part week used from the balance remaining on your ticket from the date of receipt by Go North East.

 

A further administration charge of £10 will be deducted for each ticket surrendered from any refund made.

 

A refund is only available to the original purchaser and proof of purchase may be requested.

Get Around Ticket Replacement
If a ticket is damaged, a replacement ticket may be given provided that the damage is not seen as deliberate or defaces the ticket.  The ticket type, price and expiry date must be clearly visible. 

 

Lost or stolen 16 week Get Around tickets will be replaced for the remaining weeks on the ticket.  A replacement will be given providing there is more than four weeks remaining on the ticket and that we can successfully trace when and where the ticket was originally issued from our electronic sales information. A replacement charge of £10 will be made. 

 

Only one replacement will be issued and any loss or theft must be reported to the police within 48 hours and an incident number obtained.  We cannot replace lost or stolen 7 or 28 day Get Around tickets.

Route and Area Saver tickets
Refunds and replacements are not available on any of our other route saver or specific area tickets which we offer from time to time.  Contact us on 0845 60 60 2 60 for more information.

 

Scholars Contract Tickets:
Refunds may be available on scholars contract tickets which are unused, provided they are surrendered before their expiry.  Any refund will only be available to the person or organisation to which the tickets were purchased by.

 

A replacement ticket will be given for a lost, stolen or damaged pass although the following charges apply: £15 for the first replacement, £20 for the second and £25 for third.  No more than three replacement passes will be issued.  The individual for which the pass has been issued on behalf of is liable for the replacement charges.

Unforeseen Circumstances
Refunds will not be made in respect of days on which it can be foreseen that no service will be provided, or days on which the company has advertised a suspension of service.  In the event of a suspension of services because of strikes, labour disputes, emergency or adverse weather conditions, any refunds or extension of validity of pre-purchased tickets will be entirely at the discretion of the company.
